Services for Nelson Shaw "Buddy" Hargrove, 72, Baytown, formerly of Wills Point, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 16, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel, Wills Point.
Private burial will be in White Rose Cemetery.
Mr. Hargrove died March 12, 2007, in Baytown.
He was born July 31, 1934, in Wills Point to Homer Nelson and Hazel Shaw Hargrove. He graduated from Wills Point High School in 1951, and received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Texas Tech University. He served in the Army and was in the Army Reserves until 1965. He later pursued a career as an attorney, graduating from South Texas College of Law. He had a private law firm in Houston in 1965, practicing until 2004. He was a lifetime member of the Houston Bar Association and the Texas Bar Association. He was a member of Houston Hand Gun Collectors and a Texas Tech Fraternity member of Alpha Tau Omega-Texas Zeta Eta.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Amy Hargrove, Houston, and Trevor Hargrove, Woodlands; daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and Shannon Hoover, Houston, and Shawn and Allen Gudgell, LaPorte; sister and brother-in-law, Hazel Nell "Cissi" and Tom Lanier, Linden; and grandchildren, Garrett Hargrove, Landon Hargrove, Dakota Gudgell, Whitney Hargrove and Stephanie Hoover.
