Graveside services for Thomas C. “John” Hancock, 70, Arp, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, at Mason Cemetery, Arp, with Rev. Marvin Harman officiating, under direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
Mr. Hancock died June 22, 2008, in Tyler.
He was born September 9, 1937 in Tyler to John W. “Cotton and Billie Sparks Hancock. He was a lifetime resident of Arp and was a member of the Woodmen of the World, the Elks Lodge and the Antique Car Club. He was a retired geologist and was branch manager for regional overseas operations for Sperry-Sun.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and nephew, Wayne Broadus.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, John and April Hancock, Van; daughter, Lynette Hancock, Douglas, Wyo.; sister and brother-in-law, Janie and Vern Broadus, Tyler; grandchildren, Chelsea Hancock, Hannah Hancock, Ian Hancock, Daniel Hancock and Grace Hancock; and one niece.
Honorary pallbearers included Vern Broadus and John Hancock.
