Memorial services for Michael Wayne Ayers, 53, Jackson, were scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, June 29, at the VFW Post #4376 in Seven Points.
Mr. Ayers died June 13, 2008.
He was born July 23, 1954 in Hopkins County to Kenneth Wayne and Nelwyn Smith Ayers. He graduated from Carter High School and a three-year course with General Motors in Garland. He also trained at Cummings Diesel in Dallas. He was a long haul truck driver for Pride Transport out of Utah.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Wayne Ayers; grandparents, D.J. and Thelma Downing Ayers,
and L.D. “Dad” and Maye Brown Smith.
Survivors include son, Mitchell Wayne Ayers, North Carolina; partner of more than 11 years, Rosemary Bruner, Jackson; mother, Nelwyn Ayers Greenhaw, Jackson; brother, Steve Ayers; stepchildren, Stephanie Bruner Milligan, and husband Jimmy, Kemp, Melaney Bruner Huckabay, and husband Andy, San Angelo, and Haley Bruner Gurnsey, and husband Mark Jr., Michigan; and grandchildren, Cameron, Kiya, Markey, Natalie and Case.
