Services for Eloise Campbell Flanagan, 90, Beckville, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 3, at Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel, Carthage, with Rev. Kimberly Hagedorn and Dr. Mike Burns officiating.
Burial was in Rehobeth Cemetery.
Mrs. Flanagan died July 1, 2008, in Carthage.
She was born January 17, 1918 in Rockhill Community, Panola County, to James William and Lee Vester Garner Campbell. She attended schools in Bethany, La. She married Joe Nathan Flanagan in 1934. She worked as the secretary for the city of Beckville for numerous years and was the first director of the Beckville Housing Authority. She also worked many summers at Yellowstone National Park and many years as the Democratic Precinct Judge. She was a lifelong member of the Order of the Eastern Star, holding many local and district offices, and was a longtime member of Beckville United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Joan Sanders; and sisters, Mittie Broumley and Margie Ferris.
Survivors include daughter, Brenda Flanagan Bridges, and husband Charles, Canton; sister, Bobbie Mann, Kingwood; grandchildren, Joyce Ann DeBeer, and husband Bruce, Jimmie Lou Coleman, and husband Jerry, Janet Bonura, Joe E. Bridges, and wife Janelle, Jennifer Martin, and Melanie Shaffer, and husband Phil; 12 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers included Joe E. Bridges, James U. Broumley, Alan Moon, John Hudson, Hugh Martin and John English.
Memorials may be made to Beckville United Methodist Hospital or Heartsway Hospice.
