Billie Joe Teal

Services for Billie Joe Teal, 86, Grand Saline, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 5, at Eubank Funeral Home Chapel, Canton, with Rev. Dwayne Williams officiating.


Burial was in Haven of Memories Memorial Park, Canton.


Mr. Teal died July 3, 2008, in Tyler.


He was born November 26, 1921 in Grand Saline to Joseph Preston and Ethel Long Teal. He was of Christian faith. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He retired from Vought Aircraft Industries after 29 years of service. He was active in genealogy. He was a longtime caretaker of Creagleville Cemetery.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Preston and Ethel Long Teal; his wife of 48 years, Ruth Ledbetter Teal, in 1993; and sister, Nanilou Minatrea.


Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Wayne Miller, Grand Saline; grandchildren, Brenda Pickle, and husband Danny, and Billy Wayne Miller; great-grandchildren, Ashley Pickle, Bobby Pickle, Parker Miller and Macie Miller; and great-great-grandson, Rylie Wade.


Pallbearers included David Orchard, Terry Pickle, Lynn Melton, Dennis Melton, Phil Ledbetter and Kevin Ledbetter.


Memorials may be made to the Creagleville Cemetery Association, 9419 FM 17, Grand Saline, TX 75140.
