Services for Alton Vernon Norrell, 86, Longview, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, at Eubank Funeral Home Chapel, Canton, with Rev. Bill Parr officiating.
Burial was in Haven of Memories Memorial Park, Canton.
Mr. Norrell died July 1, 2008, in Longview.
He was born January 10, 1922 in Canton to John Walter and Eunice Faglie Norrell. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church,
Longview. He was a retired insurance salesman.
He was preceded in death by brothers, J.W. Norrell Jr. and Jessie Elliott Norrell.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Opal Margie Norrell, Longview; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Sharon Norrell, Longview, and Larry and Holly Norrell, Des Moines, Iowa; sister, Maurine Wimpey, Tyler; five grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
Pallbearers included Breck Norrell, Jeremy Norrell, Blake Norrell, Troy Smith, Cole Smith and Anthony Mayhew.
