Services for Irma Ruth Parmer Browning, 86, Van, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at Hilliard Funeral Home Chapel, Van, with Rev. Mike Calhoun officiating.
Burial was in Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Browning died July 8, 2008 in Olive Branch, Miss.
She was born January 29, 1922 in Chandler to Nathan and Thelma Nowlin Parmer. She was a longtime resident of Van and a member of Van First Baptist Church. She had lived the last 2½ years in Olive Branch, Miss. She owned Browning’s Mini Mart for 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Gordon Dale Browning Sr.; and sister, Francis Wright.
Survivors include sons, Gordon Browning, Callender Lake, Roger Browning, Beaver Creek, Ohio, and Mike Browning, Olive Branch; daughter, Julie Browning, Olive Branch; brother, Truman Parmer, Chandler; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Van Volunteer Fire Department.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 11, at the funeral home.
