Graveside services for Coy Bryant Woolverton, 75, were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 13, at Liberty Cemetery, Bradford, under direction of Gordon-Foster-Brown Funeral Home.
Mr. Woolverton died July 10, 2008, in Athens.
He was born June 20, 1933 in Wills Point to Jesse Lee and Mary Belle Woolverton. He married Frankie Faye Harris in 1957. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1953 to 1961, earning several medals. He was a member of Unity Interfaith Relations Church of Athens.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Lee; mother, Mary Belle; brothers, William, Bonnie D., A.D., Emmett and Noah Van; and sisters, Girtue Williams and Elsie Mae Goggans.
Survivors include his wife, Frankie Faye Harris Woolverton; sons, Ricky Bryant Woolverton and Emmett Wayne Woolverton; daughter, Teresa Loraine Woolverton Smith; son-in-law, Kenneth W. Smith Jr.; brothers-in-law, Earl Clark, Johnie Frank Harris and Donald Ray Harris; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Earl Clark, Wills Point; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
