Edna McCown

Memorial services for Edna McCown, 92, Canton were held at 2 p.m., October 18, at Cobb Baptist Church near Wills Point. Rev. Ken Hackney and Rev. Jimmy Jones officiating.

Interment was at Clearwater Cemetery in Winnsboro under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.

Mrs. McCown passed away early Thursday morning, October 15, 2009, in Wills Point.

She was born March 26, 1917, in Childress the daughter of Thomas Oliver Dickens and Bertha Lee Lynch Dickens. On December 24, 1940, she married Ira Aubert McCown. She was a machine operator for Wilson Manufacturing Co. in Winnsboro. She had lived in Winnsboro prior to moving to Canton five years ago. She attended Cobb Baptist church near Wills Point and her membership was with the Walnut Street Baptist Church in Winnsboro.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ira Aubert McCown in 1975; two brothers; sister; daughter, LaQueta Lamm and a great grandson.

Survivors include his three sons, Carroll Coe, Longview, John McCown and wife, Martha, Dallas, Ron McCown and wife, Kay, Canton; sister, Mary Lee Clements, Hooks and 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
