Services for Wanda Ermis, 81, Canton, formerly of Edgewood were held at 2 p.m., October 28, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Rev. Michael Bedevian officiating.
Interment was at Highland Memorial Park in Terrell.
Mrs. Ermis passed away Sunday afternoon, October 25, 2009, in Canton.
She was born March 18, 1928, in Quitman, the daughter of Julius Harvey Stroud and Ruby Lee Whitehurst Stroud. She was raised in the Mesquite and Lawson areas. In 1945, she graduated from Mesquite High School and later attended Draughan’s Business College. In October 1948, Wanda married Clint "Pete" Geddie. She later married Phil Ermis in June 1968. She had been employed as a secretary by Daves Appliances in Terrell. She lived in Edgewood prior to moving to the nursing home in Canton on July 22, 2009.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phil Ermis and a brother, Maurice Stroud.
Survivors include her son, Larry Geddie and wife, Susan, Corsicana; daughter, Janet Gilmore and husband, Cliff, Edgewood; step-son, Joel Ermis and wife, Martha, of San Francisco, California; step-daughters, Shannon Kirk and husband, Jim, Crandall, Erin Wilson, of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Tiffany Powers, Bryan Geddie, Julie Layfield, Chris Gilmore & wife, Elisha, Heather Gilmore, Amy Ferrill, Lisa Wingfield, Abbie Wilson and Brandon Wilson; great-grandchildren, Cortney and Jordan Holloway, Lacey and Lexey Layfield, Jacob and Jansen Ferrill, Cayden, Cassidy and Chloe Ferrill, Kennedy and Reagen Gilmore .
