Services for Sammy Burkett, 61, Edgewood, were held at 4 p.m. October 31, at Eubank Funeral Home Chapel, Canton with Bro. Ron Dummer, and Bro. Tony Cooper officiating.
Burial was in Haven of Memories, Canton.
Mr. Burkett passed away October 28, 2009 in Quitman.
He was born September 12, 1948 in Paris to Jim and Canzanda Finley Burkett. He was Baptist by faith. He loved trail riding, an enjoyed being outside.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Burkett; son, Braden Drake Burkett both of Edgewood, son and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Sharon Burkett, Alvarado, daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Larry Linthicum, Grand Prairie, Shree and Donald Koonce, Midlothian, Stacey and Mike Duff, Robin and Joey Bush all of Edgewood; 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two foster children; two brothers; and two sisters.
Pallbearers were Dustin Reynolds, Derrick Reynolds, Colton Seeton, Charlie Burkett, Donald Koonce, Larry Linthicum, Joey Bush, and Mike Duff.
Honorary Pallbearers were Kaiden Bush, Braden Burkett, Bayley Bush.
