Ed "Big Ed" Wilkerson

Services for Ed "Big Ed" Wilkerson, 75, Brownsboro formerly of Lindale were held at 10 a.m., October 31, in the Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robbie Caldwell officiating.

Interment followed in the Hopewell Cemetery.

Mr. Wilkerson passed away October 27, 2009 in Tyler.

He was born August 24, 1934 in the Oakland-Colfax community the son of the late Jack M. and Pearl (McGrady) Wilkerson. He lived in the Swan and Lindale area for over 40 years, moving to the Brownsboro area in 2005. He was a veteran of the U S Army and a member of New Harmony Baptist Church. He was a supervisor for Tyler Pipe retiring in 1993 after 37 years of service.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Randy and Glen Wilkerson and a sister Doris Avanell Baker.

Survivors include his wife, Sharlotte Wilkerson, Brownsboro; son, Ben Wilkerson and wife Carrie, Ben Wheeler; daughter, Cindy Haire and husband Tim, Brownsboro; brother, Don Wilkerson, Canton; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Seth Wilkerson, Dan Wilkerson, Johnny Wilkerson, Wayne Baker, David Baker, Don Schuster, Frank Snider and Bonnie Elwood.

Honorary pallbearers were Randall Wilkerson, Wayne Martin, Herb Smith, Dwayne Praytor, Joe McHam, Jim McHam and Tye Haire.
