Private funeral service for Charlotte Sledge, 81, Wills Point, were held Friday, November 13, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Mr. Ken Maddox officiating.
Interment followed at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point.
Mrs. Sledge passed away early Monday morning, November 9, 2009, in Tyler.
She was born July 2, 1928, in Wills Point, the daughter of Elvis Morrow and Lillian Mamie Sanderson Morrow. She was raised in the Wills Point area and graduated from Wills Point High School. On October 20, 1945, she married Sterling Truman Sledge in Dallas. She had been employed by the First National Bank in Wills Point, bookkeeper for the Van Zandt County Tax Appraisal District in Canton and the Wills Point Chamber of Commerce. Charlotte was a member of the Wills Point Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sterling Truman Sledge on February 16, 2003 and two half sisters, Marie Cartwright and Edith Davis.
Survivors include her son, Buddy Sledge and wife, Susan, Royse City; daughter, Sunny Chance and husband, Patrick, Dallas; grandchildren, Jeffrey Hayden, Laura Hodge, Ashley Hayden, Jacob Sledge, Joshua Sledge, Jennifer Schmidt and Amanda Spradling; nine great-grandchildren; brother-in-law,Wayne Sledge and wife, Charlyne, Terrell and one nephew and his wife and one niece and her husband.
