Victims Van Located, Suspect Still At Large

Donna Limberger, Staff Writer

The Van Zandt County Investigators recently found the van of Paul Edward Marshall, 72, Wills Point.

Marshall was found dead in his home on VZCR 2142 on September 10.

The suspect wanted in connection with Marshall’s murder, Michael Maurice Dupree, 57, fled the scene in the van.

"The van was found in a subdivision close to White Rock Lake," said Van Zandt County Investigator Patrick Reedy.

Reedy said Dupree is still at large.

"We received a 911 call on September 10 from Mr. Marshall’s preacher. He had gone over to check on him since no one had seen or heard from him since the night of September 8," said Van Zandt County Investigator Patrick Reedy.

Reedy said that Marshall was found lying face down in his living room floor.

"This was murder and we are looking for Dupree in connection with this crime," said Reedy.

Reedy said that Dupree should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Dupree or the stolen vehicle should contact the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office at 903-567-4133 or Crime Stoppers at 903-567-STOP. Callers to Crime Stoppers never have to give a name or other identifying information. Arrangements are made to collect any cash reward anonymously.
