Stroll On Tap For Saturday

Canton Main Street committee members, under the co-sponsorships of Lynn Kitchens and Mercy Rushing, have put together plans for the biggest and best annual Autumn Stroll event set for October 17, at 6 p.m. at the Canton Civic Center.

Anyone who has not attended or participated in the Autumn Stroll in the past are invited to participate and take part in the only fund-raiser for the Canton Main Street USA program benefiting the downtown area.

The work done by this program, beautifying and restoring the downtown area not only benefit the downtown merchants and all local businesses, but anyone who lives, shops or works in Canton as well as all citizens of Van Zandt County.

This years Master of Ceremonies is Chet Clayton.

Committee members are 5K Chairwoman - Jessica Lee; Finance - Donna Rakestraw; Publicity and Food – Johnny and Anna McDaniel; Photography – Jimmy Strickland and the Canton Herald; Mr. or Miss Main Street – Debbie Beasley; Silent and Live Auction – Sandra Perry; Downtown Decorations – Karen Hendricks and Donna Scott; Leo Club and volunteers – Marge Wiley; and Civic Center decorations – Monteen Bullard and Donna Rakestraw.

This year’s theme is "Stroll Into Autumn" with many beautiful Fall decorations highlighting the event, and there will be a table centerpiece created by Monteen Bullard and Donna Rakestraw.

A drawing for a 52 inch HD LCD television will be held after the silent and live auction.

Tickets to this years Stroll are $30 each and may be purchased in advance at the chamber office, ERA Select Realty, or from any board member. Tickets may also be purchased at the door for $35 each.
