Two Burglary Suspects Are Still Being Sought

Staff Writer

After a day of wreaking havoc on residents of Van Zandt County, four subjects are in the custody of the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office and another two are currently on the run.

On September 21, Van Zandt County Deputies were dispatched to a location off Farm-to-Market 3227 on a burglary of a habitation.

Shortly after deputies cleared that location, the same deputies were sent to a residence off Cherry Creek on another burglary of a habitation call.

At approximately 7:30 p.m., the Canton Police Department came in contact with two individuals identified as Brooklynn Nieto and Jeremy Blaylock, who were in a stolen vehicle that was reported stolen earlier in the day in Van Zandt County.

Officer’s realized that they had a vehicle full of possible stolen items. Canton police contacted the sheriff’s office that they might have located some stolen property from the burglaries earlier in the day. Investigators were sent to Wal-Mart and it was determined from interviewing the subjects that some of the guns they stole off Cherry Creek were at a location outside Van.

Investigator’s escorted Blaylock and recovered four guns at that location. The following morning, Van Zandt County Investigator’s interviewed Nieto and Blaylock as to where the other stolen items were that had not been recovered and who else was involved in the burglaries.

It was determined that Amanda Martin, LM Lawley, Brad Mosley, and Abby Peace were involved, to some extent, in the burglaries of the residences. Investigators were able to recover a stolen television outside Grand Saline that was taken in the Cherry Creek burglary and the owner of the firearm stolen in the burglary on FM 3227 was recovered days later.

One of the individuals who were involved in the burglary on FM 3227 contacted the owner and stated that if he wanted his gun back it would cost him $100 and that they had traded the gun for drugs in Dallas.

Between the stolen car and both burglaries, most items have been recovered by investigators. At this time the following subjects are being held at the Van Zandt County Justice Center. All have been arraigned by Precinct 4 Judge Scott Shinn and bonds set.

Brooklynn Nieto is in custody being held on two counts of burglary of habitation, one count of engaging in organized criminal activity and is being held on multiple other charges from other agencies.

Jeremy Blaylock is in custody and being held on two counts of burglary of habitation, one count of engaging in organized criminal activity and held on multiple other charges from other agencies.

Bradlee Mosley is in custody and being held on one count of burglary of habitation, and one count engaging in organized criminal activity.

Lisa Abby Peace is in custody and being held on one count of burglary of habitation and one count of engaging in organized criminal activity.

Amanda Martin is at large. She is wanted for two counts of burglary of habitation, and one count of engaging in organized criminal activity.

L.M. Lawley II is at large and wanted on two counts of burglary of habitation, and one count of engaging in organized criminal activity.

"It is imperative that the public write down the serial number of all items that have one and keep them on file in a safe place," Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Chuck Allen said. "If some items that are of value do not have a serial number, mark those items with something that can distinguish it from someone else’s."

"Common markings are the last four of your Social Security number, the last four of your driver’s license number, or even your birthday," Allen added. "Without something to distinguish those items, it is hard for investigators and citizens to make a positive identification in something that might belong to them."

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of these suspects should contact the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office at 903-567-4133 or Crime Stoppers at 903-567-STOP.
