Tennis Facility Named After Judy Musgrave

The Van ISD Board of Trustees met Monday night and approved the name of the district’s new tennis facility. The facility will be The Judy Musgrave Memorial Center.

The board also approved a donation of $25,000 from A.C. Musgrave for the facility.

In other business, the board:

-approved a request from the VHS choir for an out-of-state trip to New York City in May 2010.

-approved the contract for the tennis building addition.

-approved the contract for furniture and equipment at the junior high, elementary, athletic complex and junior high cafeteria.

-approved the roofing contract for the gym building at the intermediate campus.

-approved a proposal to provide parking on the south side of the football stadium.

-heard departmental reports.

The board will hold a public hearing regarding the 2009-2010 budget on Monday, June 29 at 6:30 p.m. followed by a special board meeting to approve the budget.
