Six People Deported

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials made an early morning trip to Wills Point for the deportation of six illegal aliens on Saturday.

Wills Point officer Kelly Patrick stopped a vehicle for speeding at 1 a.m. on May 23, and two vehicles pulled into the Sonic Drive-In on Highway 80.

"I was in the Dairy Queen parking lot when checking speeds," Patrick said. "Officer (Brad) Roop pulled in where I was just before the vehicles passed through. They were clocked at 44 mile per hour. I asked Officer Roop to get the second vehicle."

The traffic stop resulted in six persons being taken into custody, and after a phone call to ICE, the six were quickly picked up for deportation.
