Broken S Designs sells western signs, branded furniture, frames

Rhonda Varsane, Staff Writer

Beverly Shelton, owner of Broken S Designs, is proud to offer a wide variety of home decor with an extra special touch given by her and busband, Ed. Broken S Designs is located in Lewis Pavilion 4500 Booths 4432-4433.

Beverly Shelton enjoys making people laugh, and that is exactly what will happen when you read the western signs at Broken S Designs.

These signs, displayed at the front of the booth, are an instant invitation into Beverly and Ed Shelton’s shop.

Furnished and decorated with a flavor of home, the lighting sets the mood.

“I never buy anything that I wouldn’t put in my home, and I display them as they are displayed in a home,” Beverly explains.

The Shelton’s hometown of Baird, Texas, is known as the “Antique Capitol of West Texas.” Baird is where this husband and wife team raise cattle, using Broken S as their brand.

They started their business making lamps, candleholders, picture frames, and other western items, taking pre-existing furniture and covering it with cowhide and branding each piece.

Some of the specialty items that Broken S Designs handle are wine racks, grape and French labels, rooster plates, and stained glass.

The Tuscan items include canisters and wall pockets and the art encompasses western, grape, rooster, and coffee.

They also have wall grills, western lamps and clocks.

Beverly makes it a point to go to the Dallas market two times a year keeping up to date on the popular and latest items.

If Beverly is unable to find what she wants or likes, she researchers the product, locates the manufacturer or distributor, and contacts them directly via the Internet.

After retiring she decided to follow in her brothers footsteps, a seven year veteran of First Monday Trade Days, and became a vendor herself.

Broken S Designs products can also be found at Second Time Around located in Baird.

Everyone is invited to share a laugh, and visit Broken S Designs located at Lewis Pavilion 4500, Booths 4432-4433, or feel free to call (325) 721-6604.
