Eagles Dominate MVP List
The District Champion Canton Eagles garnered four of the six superlatives awards given in the All-District balloting. Three sophomore Eagles are on that list, as well as head coach Jeff Priest as Coach of the Year.
Ethan Vestal was named the Defensive Most Valuable Player of the district. Nich Garrison was awarded the Pitcher of the Year, and Colten Brewer received Newcomer of the Year.
Van senior Zach Harrison received the Most Valuable Player Award, and Mineola junior Colt Bickerstaff is the Offensive Most Valuable Player.
Six other Eagles also received honors, including two to the First Team All-District. Senior Johnathan Savis was named first team as an outfielder, and junior B.J. Arthur as an infielder.
Those named to the second team were pitcher Jonathan Huddle; infielders Lucas Sanford and Tanner Smith; and senior outfielder Brett Anderson.
