Eagles Defeat Eustace, 48-41
The Canton Eagles started the district race tied at the top, but was scheduled to face one of the other two 1-0 teams on Tuesday. District favorite Van defeated Wills Point 46-45 on Friday, and hosted the Eagles on Tuesday.
The 48-41 win over Eustace in the Eagles’ district opener was a big first step toward qualifying for the playoffs though, Friday’s game against Kemp will be equally important.

The Eagles took a 14-12 lead in the first quarter, but were held to six points in the second, and the score was tied at 20 at the half.
Canton then used a 13-6 advantage in the third to take a 33-26 lead into the fourth and held on to that seven-point margin.
Tyler Yarbrough led the rebounding with seven, and scored nine points. Tre Stiefer scored six, Ethan Fields added five and David Aaron three.
