Lady Bulldogs Run To 10-0 In District
The Lady Bulldogs have extended their undefeated district mark to 10-0 with wins over Malakoff and Rice.
Cassidi Henderson tossed a no-hitter in Malakoff, striking out 10 in a 13-0 win over the Lady Tigers.
The Lady Bulldogs broke open a scoreless game in the top of the third with five runs, then added eight more in the next two innings.
Among the nine hits for Edgewood were a double and triple for Jazmine Dunn, who led the offense with three RBIs. Brandi Bell had a single and a double and two RBIs, while Patsy Abate and Brittney Eason both added singles.
Hosting Rice on April 7, the Lady Bulldogs scored three in their first at bat against Rice. That would be enough, as Henderson pitched a one-hit shutout, however the Lady Bulldogs tacked on seven more runs for a 10-0 win. Henderson struck out 13.
Among the eight hits for the Lady Bulldogs were a double for Henderson and a pair of singles for Jade Garrison. Both had two RBIs for the game.
Edgewood was in Surry Rosser on Thursday, and hosts Kerens on April 14.
