Lady Mustangs Fall To McLeod In Bi-District

The Martins Mill Lady Mustangs softball season came to an end at the bi-district round with a 9-1 loss to McCleod.

A 0-0 tie in the fifth inning got out of hand in the sixth, as the Lady Mustangs committed four errors behind Kaci Roberts.

The senior pitcher had a no-hitter going into the fifth, but the first McCleod hit was a two-run homer that broke the scoreless tie. McCleod got four hits to go with the errors in the sixth to score seven runs.

The lone Martins Mill run came in the seventh when Molly Harkins reached on an error, moved to second on a fielder’s choice and scored on an RBI single by Kenzi Roberts.

Lauren Webster, who batted at a .641 clip this season and stole 59 bases, was 2-of-3 with a triple.

The Lady Mustangs graduate eight seniors off this year’s team. In addition to Webster, Kaci Roberts and Harkins, are Kaylyn McCullough, Courtney Gregory, Payton Coleman, Kaylee Hillhouse and Rachel Nesloney.
