Fruitvale Falls To Crossroads, 34-16

Randal Brewer, Sports Editor

The Fruitvale Bobcats fell to the Crossroads 34-16 on Friday night. Crossroads jumped out to a 14-0 lead after a 1-yard run and a 20-yard touchdown pass from Craig Ramsey to Colton Maguan.

Randy Mejia got the Bobcats on the board with a 33-yard touchdown, but the try after was no good and the first quarter ended 14-6.

Crossroads built on its lead on a 64-yard run by Brandon Peyrefetti, and another scoring pass from Ramsey to McGuan. The half ended with Crossroads holding a 28-6 lead.

Ramsey added a score in the third quarter on an interception return, giving Crossroads a 34-6 lead.

In the fourth, the Bobcats scored on a safety by James White, and a five-yard run by Connor Westbrook. Mejia added the two-point try.

Fruitvale will try to pick its first win of the season when Hawkins visits next Friday.
