After the ensuing kickoff, Phelps connected with Bolin for 29 and Evans for 16, giving his offense a first-and-ten at the 15. Phelps then found Miller over the middle for 12 more, but as the senior receiver was fighting for the goal line, the ball was stripped away and recovered by Lone Oak.

Thirty-seven seconds was too much time left on the clock for Lone Oak, however. A short kick and good return gave the Buffaloes possession at the Indian 48. In two plays, Jones passed to Cash for 28 yards, and Trenton Overly for 20 and a touchdown. The kick was no good, but Lone Oak led 41-14.
