Lady Tigers Score Big In Win
The Lady Tigers swatted the Kemp Lady Jackets with a 25-0 district loss in the second game of the district schedule. Wills Point only needed two at bats to score the win in a total of 2-1/2 innings.
Macy Unger got the win, giving up one hit in the first inning, a double. That was the last highlight for Kemp, as Wills Point scored 16 in the first inning, and nine more in the second before finding ways to get out.
Friday night’s contest will be drastically different, as the Lady Tigers will face the No. 2 ranked team in the state, according to the Texas Girls Coaches Association poll, in the Van Lady Vandals.
Van has compiled an 18-0 record and outscored opponents 193-14. The Lady Vandals’ are at the top of the district race with a 2-0 record, having defeated Eustace and Kemp. The Lady Vandals game against Eustace scheduled for Tuesday was rained out.
The Lady Tigers’ win over Kemp gave the team a 2-1 district record. A Canton win over Mineola has created a three-way tie at 2-1.
