Local Youth Flown To Dallas After Accident

Multiple emergency units responded to the report of an automobile and pedestrian accident on Quinlan Parkway in front of Dollar General at 9:06 p.m. June 27.

Arriving American Medical Response paramedics ordered the immediate launch of an air ambulance and Quinlan firefighters prepared a landing zone for a CareFlite helicopter that landed at 9:30 p.m.

Quinlan Police Chief Johnny Thornburg said, "Scott Collingsworth Jr., age 12, of Quinlan, was attempting to cross the street and was struck by a car."

The youth was flown to Children’s Hospital of Dallas in an unknown condition, Thornburg said.
