Quinlan ISD Announces Nominees Of The Year

The votes are in at every Quinlan Independent School District campus.

Nominees have been voted on by peers to represent each campus for the District Employees of the Year.

The QISD Employee Appreciation Dinner is set for Monday, May 11, at 6 p.m. in the W.H. Ford High School Commons. This year’s theme is "A Night at the Movies."

There will be a movie star look-alike contest as well as movie-themed campus skit contests. Years of service awards, perfect attendance, and district Employees of the Year will be announced.

The FHS Pals and cheerleaders will provide child care. All employees are invited to take a guest.

Elementary Teacher of the Year nominees are pre-kindergarten teacher Erica Morrison, Joe Martin Early Childhood Center; second-grade teacher Meta Jennings, D.C. Cannon Elementary School; and fourth-grade teacher Jenny Cheney, A.E. Butler Intermediate School.

Secondary Teacher of the Year nominees are eighth-grade reading teacher Linda Butler, C.B. Thompson Middle School; and Band Director Martin Filip, W.H. Ford High School.

Professional Services Employee of the Year nominees are Joe Martin Early Childhood Center Principal Casey Johnson; D.C. Cannon Elementary School Assistant Principal Amy Griffin; Supt. Micheal French, nominated by A.E. Butler Intermediate School; C.B. Thompson Middle School Principal Michael Tull; and W.H. Ford High School Assistant Principal James Daugherty.

Custodial, Grounds and Maintenance Employee of the Year nominees include custodian Sherrie Daniel, Joe Martin Early Childhood Center; custodian Ramona Gonzales, D.C. Cannon Elementary School; custodian Dewayne Page, A.E. Butler Intermediate School; custodian Shirley Malone, C.B. Thompson Middle School; and custodian Kimberly Rodgers, W.H. Ford High School.

Food Services and Transportation Employee of the Year nominees are Sue McInchak, Joe Martin Early Childhood Center; Sammie Nelson, D.C. Cannon Elementary School; Sandy Dickerson, A.E. Butler Intermediate School; Sherry Blackerby, C.B. Thompson Middle School; and Emma Solis, W.H. Ford High School.

Special education, special programs Employee of the Year nominees are Emma Smith, Joe Martin Early Childhood Center; Mary Warren, D.C. Cannon Elementary School; Gail Loving, A.E. Butler Intermediate School; Marsha Roton, C.B. Thompson Middle School; and Sue Koen, W.H. Ford High School.

Para-professional Employee of the Year nominees are Librarian Cathy Landrith, Joe Martin Early Childhood Center; Librarian Chevie Griggers, D.C. Cannon Elementary School; campus secretary Judy Armstrong, A.E. Butler Intermediate School; receptionist Lori Webb, C.B. Thompson Middle School; and athletic department secretary Kristy Marty, W.H. Ford High School.

Athletic Employee of the Year nominees include Mike Barton, C.B. Thompson Middle School; and Paul Phlieger, W.H. Ford High School.
