Panthers Selected Chair
Coach Robert Rascoe reported on the W.H. Ford High School’s success this year on the links.
On Feb 26, the golf team participated in the Rockwall High School Golf Tournament at The Shores Country Club in Rockwall.
There were 18 teams, primarily 4A and 5A teams, and Quinlan finished 12th out of 18 teams.
Leading the Panthers with a score of 90 was Brandon Murphy followed by Britton Wise, 99, Austin Brinkmeyer, 111; and Zach Money, 120; for a total of 420. Ty Dyess started playing but was unable to finish because of illness.
On March 9, the golf team participated in the Crandall Invitational Golf Tournament at Creekview Golf Club in Crandall. The Panthers finished 10th out of 15 teams.
Leading the Panthers was Ty Dyesss with a 92 followed by Robert Watson, 103; Zack Money, 110; Austin Brinkmeyer, 116; and Michael Dooley, 118.
On March 23, the Panthers traveled to The Links at Lands End near Yantis for the Sulphur Springs Invitational Golf Tournament.
Extreme weather conditions with winds gusting to 40 miles per hour really ballooned the scores. Ten teams participated and the Panthers finished ninth.
Ty Dyess was again the low medallist with a 101, followed by Britton Wise with a 102; Robert Watson, 111; and Zack Money, 128.
Quinlan is the District Chair for the District Golf Tournament and is currently organizing all the activities for that tournament.
The District Tournament will be as follows: Monday, April 6, first round, boys, Tawakoni Golf Club; Tuesday, April 7, first round, girls, Tawakoni Golf Club; Monday, April 13, second round, boys, Stone River Golf Club, Royse City; Tuesday, April 14, second round, girls, Stone River Golf Club, Royse City. All District rounds will start at 9 a.m.
