Lady Panthers Face Community Friday
The Quinlan Ford softball team will play its first district home game Friday when the Lady Panthers take on Community at 5 p.m. at Johnson Athletic Complex.
The team is still looking for its first district win after opening with a 7-3 loss to Farmersville last Friday and an 11-0 loss at Lovejoy on Tuesday.
The Lady Panther have compiled a record of 7-9-2 so far this year.
"We are a young team comprised of four seniors, one junior, two sophomores and five freshmen," head coach Dale Clement said.
"We have been very competitive at times and other times we look really young. We are still working out the bugs," Clement added.
The team’s top hitters are senior Jeri Paulson, hitting .571; senior Taylor Paulson, hitting .385; junior Sierra Thetford, hitting .395; and sophomore Tanna Underwood, hitting .367.
Pitchers are Underwood with a current earned run average of 1.75 and Paulson with an ERA of 2.36.
