Sophomore Flores Qualifies

W.H. Ford High School Panther Stevie Ray Flores distinguished himself during the regular track season before he qualified last week in four events at the District Meet to compete at Regionals in Commerce.

Flores is a sophomore. At district, he jumped 20 feet, 9 and a half inches in the long jump to win the event and to miss the record by 3 and a half inches.

He qualified third in the triple jump and second in the 200-yard dash. The one thing that caught everyone’s eye was the 4x2 relay when he took the stick from the third leg. The pack was about 50 yards ahead of him, and he ran them down to take third and qualify for Regionals.
