Panthers Rally To Defeat Rains

The Quinlan Ford Panthers varsity baseball team defeated Rains on Monday 12-11. 

The Panthers erased a four-run deficit in the bottom of the seventh as Justin Bigham drove in the winning run. 

Justin Dickerson gets credit for the win as a pitcher.  Dickerson faced 12 batters giving up four hits, walking two, and striking out three.  Justin Wilkins faced 21 batters giving up two hits, walking three and striking out 11. 

Justin Bigham faced five batters, giving up one hit, three walks, and striking out one.

Leading Quinlan at the plate was Kevin Stone, who was 3-for-3 with three runs batted in.  Zach Wilkins and Justin Dickerson were both 2-for-3 and Wilkins had one RBI while Dickerson scored three runs.

Tuesday, Quinlan lost to Farmersville by a score of 12-1.  Zach Wilkins went 2-for-2 at the plate. 

Nathan Riley had the Panthers’ only RBI in the fourth when his single drove in Kevin Stone.

Quinlan finishes its season tonight (Friday) at home with the junior varsity starting at 5 p.m. and the varsity at 7:30. 

The senior baseball players will be honored in activities prior to the start of the varsity game.
